Welcome to {wall art wednesday}! Come + be inspired to decorate your home and show off your memories with me!

We recently gave Addie a “big-girl room” re-do, and while this wall is a work in progress still, I couldn’t help but share some of the fun! It is a little wild and crazy, but hey, it’s a little girl’s room–why not? I painted an old piece of wood with turquoise paint, added some zig-zags, wrote her name, finished it off with some glitter paint (to match her bed, of course!) and voila! A little artwork from my heart. Not the most beautiful of pieces, but she knows it is from me, so that is meaningful to me. The “Princess Diaries” print is what I designed for Addie’s second birthday, so I thought I would add it to this wall. Two of my favorite things about this wall are the two absolutely ahhh-dorable prints from Sarah Jane Studios, Oh Happy Day and Balloons. I would seriously fill every room with her prints if I could, they are so darling–and so hard to choose from! I created the two monogram pieces using “A”s that I had, spray painting them and attaching them to fun trays that I found at IKEA.
So, dear Wall Art Wednesday junkies, what shall I put in the empty frame? Leave it that way, or add something? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for taking a peek at our sweetie’s new big-girl wall!

Fun circle frames in differing sizes really make a fun statement!
Keep a room bright and crisp by using two base colors and frames of different shapes but the same color.
Design a custom piece of artwork for your home using old wood and scrapbook letters and place among other photographs on a mantel or table.
White frames, white shelving and white home accents against a modern-colored wall creates a contemporary look for your home.
Simple frames and diy pinwheels create a vintage display with a modern twist–perfect to add that touch of whimsy to a child’s room or a playroom!

Meghan McGrady-Curtis - Love Addie’s room!! I would say if the frame were a little smaller, leave it empty, but I think its a tad too big to do so. Maybe have your daughter create her own work of art to hang in it?
Laura Winslow Photography - Oooohhh, Meghan!!! I LOOOVE that idea!!! PERFECT!!!! xoxo
Jessica - This is the cutest thing I have ever seen!! I am totally inspired! Do you remember where you found all the cute frames & bookshelf ledges? I think her artwork or a picture of her would be cute in the frame!
andrea isaacs - How about her silhouette in a fun bright color… does not need to be a traditional one could be her profile blowing a bubble or a dandelion ????? I have a silhouette wall with all our our family members even the cats and each is personalized with our first and middle names…
Just a thought…. LOVE the Wall!!!
