Tomorrow, my sweet Jackson, you begin a delicious new journey in life.  You will begin kindergarten.  I am so very excited for this new chapter in your beautiful life, but as a mommy I cannot help but become overwhelmed by emotion on this eve of such change.  You appear in my mind’s eye, the first glimpse of what would become my world–a crying, beautiful newborn, my face tear stained but happy in a way I had never yet dreamed of. I see you as a drooling and gummy-smiled baby, the air full of sweet baby babbling and cooing, chubby little legs kicking out and seeing the world with ever-new eyes.  You were my buddy, my sous chef in your aquarium bouncer as I prepared dinner each evening, my energetic playmate, my story time friend and both my nighttime musician and literary critic as we sang lullabies and read stories.  However did five years pass so very quickly? How can a parent go from that to releasing her baby to this new world?  The only solace becomes a need to trust that you have within you the knowledge of your strength and courage that will well prepare you for this new stage.

I want you to soar, my darling…

You are inquisitive and always thinking–I hope you can turn this into a real love of learning and can see what joy this can bring…
