“The sweetest roamer is a boy’s young heart.”
~George Edward Woodberry
This little man was such a little ball of energy, and I loved every second of it! He is such a doll and has the sweetest little smile. We had fun exploring and running all around, and he got a sweet reward at the end in the form of a colorful Krispy Kreme donut. Mmmm…makes you want to go grab one right now, right? I think he enjoyed it, what do you think?

Yay! One of my photographs from the Alice in Wonderland photo shoot–styled by The TomKat Studio and featuring the talent of SO many fabulous artists–was a featured photo on the Martha Stewart Dreamers into Doers webpage! SO fun and exciting that they loved it, too! We had SUCH a blast at the shoot…don’t forget to check out my original blog post to see more of the shoot or visit The TomKat Studio blog!

“Siblings-the definition that comprises love, strife, competition and forever friends.”
~Byron Pulsifer
What a super fun session! I had the pleasure of photographing one of our {mod babe} contest winners again, and this time I got to meet her big bro, too! I had a blast watching the energetic little guy run and explore. There were so many fun places to check out, and a ton of beautiful flowers for sissy to hang out in. Little man was on a quest to find the fish, I tell you! When we finally reached the water, I snapped away as he curiously and in awe turned his ear and then eye toward the running water. Where were those darn fish?
Thanks so much, H fam! It was great!!

“A toddling little girl is a centre of common feeling which makes the most dissimilar people understand each other.”
– George Eliot
I first met this darling little girl and her wonderful parents when she was six months old and just beginning to crawl. I instantly was endeared to her sweet smile, her pouty lips and amazing eyes. Her mom, Vicki, and I became fast friends.
This wonderful little girl is so full of life and spirit, and I feel honored to have the opportunity to photograph her again now at a year old. This stunning location made my heart skip a beat and had me clicking the shutter the entire time. At a year, this sweetie has adorable, wispy curls, the same blue eyes that you can get lost in, a self-confidence to be jealous of, and the beginnings of a Spanish vocabulary. We had a great time–we only had to resort to bribery once or twice. I’m not so sure how well our currency worked, though…who uses ice to bribe a child on a 90 degree day in Arizona?
Thanks for a wonderful session! Enjoy your sneak peeks…

“Friends are like cupcakes in my pantry of memories.”
~Anonymous
Okay, so I just NEED to find an excuse to have one of these babies designed. Amazing! Are you a fun bride-to-be looking for something that will cause your guests to talk about your reception for years to come? Hosting a baby shower and want a wow-za centerpiece? Planning your child’s birthday party?
Read on and drool.
My dear friends Vicki and Ray worked together to design this unique cupcake holder–it is suspended from the ceiling! I had to share it with you because they design each holder custom to YOU! That means no one will be exactly the same and you can work with them to create exactly what you want. They make quite a team–Vicki is an architect and designs the holders and Ray builds them. Seriously, I could never do that. They have some serious talent, don’t you think?
If you are interested in discussing how you can have your own designed, just call Vicki at 602.909.6118 or email her at andersvl@hotmail.com.
I want you to just TRY not to think of cupcakes all.day.long. after checking out these gorgeous photographs from a recent wedding they designed this holder for.
A very special thanks to the wonderful Ali of Ali Broach Photography for generously providing her beautiful images. All photographs in this post © Ali Broach Photography. Thanks, Ali!
What is your fave type of cupcake? All chocolate? Red velvet? Yummy!

I love this shot and how you can see it suspended from the ceiling…floating cupcakes!

Mmmmm….:)
So, so beautiful and unique, right? Give Vicki a call to chat with her, pass this on to someone you know, or simply drool over the cool design and delectable cupcakes. Anyone making a trip to Sprinkles now?
xoxo,
laura

“Thank you for coming, holding me dear,
Although you have known me no more than one year.
Know that I know what your words want to say,
Older than sunshine upon a new day.”
What an absolute cutie! Today I had the pleasure to photograph this little guy and his parents for his first birthday portraits. He was a serious little fellow, but we got some great smiles, too! I just adore when little ones have their serious faces on…perhaps it is because my own son is like that and it reminds me of how serious a little man he was in his own first birthday photographs. As an added bonus, their little eyes really pop when they are serious!
This little dude is already walking and was so fast! He was quite proud of himself, it was so adorable. I just love seeing little ones experiencing their first taste of cake…fabulous! Mom had the cutest jerseys made, too. Mom and Dad have “9″ and “17″, their son’s birthdate, while little man’s has his name and “1″. Love that idea! Thanks for choosing me to document this special time in your lives, I can’t wait for you to see more!
I also want to add that if you are thinking about scheduling a session, let’s chat soon! I am almost completely booked up for the rest of the year, with the exception of the Christmas Mini Sessions that I will be announcing soon. I do leave some space available for maternity and newborn sessions, so if you are interested in having your baby bump and/or your newborn photographed, please contact me for more information on scheduling–or if you are interested in any other kind of session so we can fit you in!

“Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker’s man.
Play with my cake? My mom says I can!
I blew out my candle, I made my first wish;
Won’t someone please help me and hand me a dish?
Frosting on fingers and cake between toes is the best way to eat it, as everyone knows.
Don’t try to wash me before I’m quite done; It’s not every day that I get to turn one.
Smeared kisses and cake crumbs will all wipe away but never the memory of my first birthday!”

This session was so.much.messy.fun!!! I cannot believe that I photographed this little cutie when he was mere weeks old, and now look at him! We let him explore the area while I snapped some photographs of that serious little face. He was a fast one and crawled from one fun thing to the next–he gave me quite the run for my money! I just love this age, and I loved capturing the way he looks as he was crawling away…very quickly I might add! This sweet little boy got his sweet reward at the end of our session when he was given free reign to chow down on his very own oversized cupcake. You can’t beat the look of intense concentration on his face, which was soon replaced with a grin as big as that cupcake! I call him my little smurf baby because of the blue tint his skin took on while smearing all that gooey sweet frosting on his body!
Want to schedule your own “Yummy Cupcake Smash” session for your little cutie pie? Just contact me and we will set it up! The cake is from the lovely Angie of The Cake Maker…this awesome treat can be customized with any color frosting you want, too! I love, love the insane brightness of this blue frosting! She even delivers! Just tell her that Laura sent you, and we can have this cake all set for your little prince or princess to tear into while I snap away! Mmmm…I’ll leave you with another shot of all that yummy goodness!
