“Photography records the gamut of feelings written on a human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created.  It is a major force in explaining man to man.”

~Edward Steichen

A wall full of interesting frames and art, highlighted by lights overhead.  Make a few frames really stand out with these frame risers from Pottery Barn.  Awesome!

How fun to create a little nook in your closet or bookshelf, put wallpaper on the back wall and fill the shelves with photographs and cherished mementos…

A super fun and easy way to display your photos!  Check out the tutorial here–I love all the colors!!

This eclectic mix of photographs and inspirational wall art just makes me happy!  Blend them together to create your own happy place–fill the wall with cherished photos and modern prints with sayings you love.  Some of my favorite prints can be found here, here and here.

Simple, clean, love it!  Choose a color theme and then have two meaningful photographs framed and perched on your desk. What better way to work than to be able to look over at your photos?

“A photograph never grows old.  You and I change, people change all through the months and years, but a photograph always remains the same. How nice to look at a photograph of a mother and father taken many years ago.  You see them as you remember them.  But as people live on, they change completely.  That is why I think a photograph can be kind.”

~Albert Einstein

More {wall art wednesday} posts here!  Enjoy, my friends!  :)

Such a beautiful way to welcome people into your home.  It is so easy to forget to make that one little area or nook of your home special, isn’t it?  This display of photos and other goodies looks so well thought out and inviting.  LOVE!  Makes me want to redo my entryway…with a colorful Laura-twist, of course!

{image  via decor pad}

I love this idea of displaying a photograph on a large easel and then also using the wire — shown here in a previous {wall art wednesday} post– for more photographs.  Very fun for a playroom but easily translatable to any room in the house!

A simple, beautiful photo blown up large.  Need I say more? I’m a HUGE fan of BIG photographs. :)

{image via design pod}

This is just too cute!!  I love it and the versatility of it!  SO easy to change out photos and even to add trinkets based on season, don’t you think?  Find out all the DIY info here.

Sniff, sniff, this is no longer available, but wouldn’t it be easy to replicate?  SO adorable! I just bought some super easy-to-stick-on-the-wall “frames” from Target for Addie’s room that are similar in style.  FUN!!  I can’t find the exact ones online–bummer!  They are fun, colorful frames, though!  ADORE!  Now, my next step is to put photos in them…

Happy dreaming + decorating, my peeps! :)

Looking for the giveaway?  Check out the below post here–there is still time to enter to win! :)

Anyone a Tori Spelling fan?  Here is a photograph of one of her homes with three images hung above her couch.  In a wall space like this, three is the perfect number as odd numbers are typically more pleasing to the eye.  Of course, there are always ways to make two of four or even more work, depending on the arrangement, but for this, three is awesome.  I love the beautiful photographs in simple, large frames.  This looks like a lived-in room–how could you not love to look at those each day?

{image via decor pad}

Wooden hangers!!!  Can you believe it?  How easy and ingenious!  I am SO doing this somewhere in Jackson’s room.  I have already incorporated this previous idea of clipboards (I really have to find time to take a photo of it), only I used clear clipboards and added fun ribbons to the top.  This hanger idea is just perfect–you could even paint them fun colors!

{image via design corner}

Never underestimate the power of a single large image to make a statement.  My preference is a canvas and I think every client should invest in one as it is a stunning piece of ready-to-hang art.  My canvases are some of my most cherished pieces in my home, and to me, they look timeless. The larger the better, and I am not just saying that!  :)   Seriously, look how this fun image (mounted on styrene) just jumps out at you!  Love it!!

{image via pbteen}

I have always loved the look of large frames just propped on the floor.  It gives it kind of a bohemian, artsy effect and I just love it.  If I didn’t have a spirited one year old and an energetic three year old, I might give it a try.  Looks like it will have to wait, though.  :)

{image via decor pad}

Okay, when I tell you that these are on sale right now at Pottery Barn will you promise not to buy them out before I decide if I want one or not? :)   Hehe!  Love this, and I think it would be awesome for not only a home but a studio, too.  SO many awesome ways to use it!  I am thinking it is the perfect spot for  Christmas cards or your child’s artwork, too!  Let’s all say it together, “Adore!!”

{image via pottery barn}

So, I just love this image.  The colors are so modern and fresh and who can’t incorporate something like this into a room?  So easy to change out–I have several of these throughout my home.  Do you?

{image via decor pad}

Sweet Whitney, a {wall art wednesday} follower,  shared a link with me yesterday of her wall inspired by an idea from a previous {wall art wednesday} post.  Adorable, Whitney!  It made me smile–head on over to her blog and check it out!  Do you have a wall or fun idea to share?  Shoot me an email–I would love to feature it!

Let your imagination soar, and provide a fun environment for your children with photographs of themselves, their family, their friends and their pets, no matter what type of space they have!

~check out other fun ideas in the previous posts of {wall art wednesday} here!~

These frames from Pottery Barn Teen are easily interchangeable and so cute!  Love the room and the color palette, too!  :)

{image via pbteen}

My vision for this totally rockin’ chalkboard wall–hang photographs right on the wall and doodle your own frame around them with chalk!!  How FUN!!

I just love that these are all flush + colorful + that they cover the whole wall!  Perfect for a fun boys room!

{image via decor pad}

What child wouldn’t want to display their original works of art amid this crazy fun?!  How adorable to have photographs of your kiddos laughing and playing, mixed in with their paintings in these fun frames.  Love, love, love!!

{image via project nursery via Eric Luse}

So cute and fresh!  Both Addie + Jack have huge photographs of themselves in their rooms, and love waking up to them.  Vain?  I am of the opinion that you can’t be vain when you are only a year old or three years old.  I think it is fun!  All kiddos should have big photos of themselves and their siblings in their rooms!

{image via dian lofton photography}

We  have one of these from IKEA (there I go again!) in Jack and Addie’s playroom and I love, love, love it!  It is so wonderful to have a place to be able to hang all of their artwork and projects.  We also hang up any cards they get and it is great and so easy for photographs, too!

How do you decorate your own child’s room or playroom with photographs?  Do share!  I just added more fun photos to Jack’s room, and I used some ideas I have posted here from previous {wall art wednesday’s}!  :)

More fun + fab {wall art wednesday} today!  Check more posts out here!

Your child’s photo as pop art!  What fun it brings to this room!!  This would look super cute with your doggie, too!  Here is a company to order through.

{image via decor pad}

Blocks of color, interesting photographs…awesome!!  IKEA has some frames that would work perfect, too, AND they are only $2.99!  Easy, peasy!!

{image via domino magazine}

This room is so peaceful, isn’t it?  I love when photographs are mixed in with graphic prints in frames.  This would be perfect for that!

{image via room remix}

This idea is awesome for a playroom or a children’s room!  These IKEA frames are so inexpensive and colorful that you can mix sizes and colors and include both your child’s artwork and photographs (hmmm…IKEA should start paying me I’m giving them so much love in this post!).  I’m thinking that photographs of your child with their friends would be particularly cute!  I did have Jackson’s artwork displayed in these on our playroom wall, but they didn’t stay up for long.  :)   I love the idea of the ledge for them to just sit on, away from little hands.  It is my dream and on my to-do list to have a mini photo shoot with all of Jackson’s little buddies so I can adorn his walls with fun images of them all interacting and playing together!

{image via ikea}

and, this image has no photo wall display, but this is my blog, right? :)   I just adored this room too darn much not to share.  Something about it just caught my eye! What do you think?  Wouldn’t you love to head into dreamland in THIS room?!

I just adore finding new and inspiring walls full of fun and memorable photographs.  Here are some more to get your creative juices flowing, in another installment of {wall art wednesday}.  Do you have a fab wall or area of photographs in your home?  Send ‘em my way–I am working on a {wall art wednesday} post full of YOUR photos!  Yay!  Sit back, relax, enjoy + the inspiring displays of art!

Love, love, love!!  I have a thing for initials, and the pop of the yellow…ahhh!  I just HAVE to do something like this!!  I think it would be perfect for Addie’s room!

…and here is another view of it…

{photos via ohdeedoh}

I just can’t get the idea of these huge wallpaper photos out of my mind…I am thinking playroom again here!  :)

{photo via apartment therapy}

Want to display a lot of photos the classic Martha way? :)

{image via martha stewart}

Okay, so how simplistic + awesome is this idea?!  SO fun, and how easy would this be?  You could even do it with embellished clipboards–I covered clipboards in fun scrapbook paper + put different ribbon around the ring at the top.  I think I should do some more with photos!  So easy to change out the photo, too!

Remember to send in your inspiration!  Have a great week!

“A photograph is memory in the raw. ”

~Carrie Latet

I had a wonderful response to last week’s {wall art wednesday}.  I find it is a challenge for most people in this busy world to give thought to taking their photos out of albums and onto their walls.  Give your photographs and memories the place they deserve in your home.  Make a statement and go big.  You really will adore it and be so happy you did.  Here are a few more ideas to get you started…

I just love this one…I have a very similar photo of my two kiddos and they are around the same ages, too.  Think I should blow it up and put it in our bedroom?  :)   One photograph blown up big can make such an impact, don’t you think?

{image via apartment therapy}

How fun!  I bet you would never think to put your frames this close together and in this pattern…look how they are all different sizes, too.  Might be pretty easy to do, don’t you think?

{image via real simple}

This one is similar to the previous wall display…I just love how it wraps around the corner!  So unique!

{image via apartment therapy}

Just by grouping six or more (I love at least nine even more) frames of the same size together, you are making a huge statement.  This is pretty much what I have on the wall in the office except the frames are all square.  I.love.it.

What have you done to make a statement in your own home with photographs?  Share with us!  I can’t wait to share some of my client images…thanks to those that have already shared!  :)

“Photograph:  a picture painted by the sun without instruction in art. ”

~Ambrose Bierce

*Sigh*  My head is always swimming with new and interesting ideas of how I can display the thousands of photographs that I have of my children and family.  Yep, I have taken thousands (millions?!), but there are always those cherished ones that really hit you and you think, “I need to hang this!”.   Alternatively, you hire a custom photographer and invest in gorgeous canvas or print wall art…then, what do you do with them?  Here is a little inspiration to get you dreaming and planning…love these!!  Think beyond an album, beyond the photos on the computer, beyond the desk prints and go big!  It really does make a huge impact.  I have a wall of nine 20×20 frames matted to 12×12 on a large wall in my office (I will have to photograph it and share one of these days…).  I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see the smiles of my children displayed so prominently.

Like this one…you would probably never, ever think to go quite this big, but how could you ever be in a bad mood when you were in this room, looking at these smiling faces?! :)   Just looking at this makes me grin!

{image via apartment therapy}

I love the simplicity and symmetry of this display…

{image via desire to inspire}

This display is just so personal in that it combines photos of your children with framed pieces of their art.  The colors pretty much rock, too.

{image via real simple}

{Do you have a fun wall display?  Share it with us! Email me over a pic!}

{image via domino magazine}

Ummm, yep.  I seriously would do this!  What a statement!!  No need to say more, it speaks for itself, don’t you think?

{image via pewter and sage}

Send your wall display photos to me–big or small, black + white or color…we want to see them!  Inspire us!  :)
