April 17, 2010“Even before the stars lit up the sky, your little boy had a special place in the heart of God. “

This session was supposed to be a maternity session. His mama was anxiously anticipating her session, but this little man had other plans. He arrived six weeks early, causing his mama to forego both her maternity session and her plans for a belly cast. Do you think she even gives it a second thought now, though? Look what she has instead–a perfect, precious little baby boy.
He was just 4 pounds, 14.9 ounces, but is so, so healthy for a preemie. He loved basking in the sun during our session and was in a deep slumber in no time. I love outdoor sessions for newborns–especially at this time of year. They love the warm weather and the slight breeze. Perfect! He even snoozed away as we put the little guy inside of a snowboard helmet (dad is an instructor). Adorable! Thank you for a wonderful session, G family!

March 17, 2010“Life is a flame that is always burning itself out, but it catches fire again every time a child is born.”
~George Bernard Shaw
This little sweetheart is just such a doll, and I adored his wispy blonde hair! I love his nursery, too! SO adorable!! Check out his name on the wall! He might have had a bit of an eventful arrival, but he is just as calm as can be and simply perfect. He is a wonderful eater, and as is usual with newborn sessions, we worked around his schedule so that he was content and had a full belly. What a little angel! The new mom and dad are obviously overjoyed and so in love with their new little man. How could you not be?! I also enjoyed chatting with them–it was such a pleasure to meet the both of you. Thank you for having me to your home and trusting me with these amazing first moments of you miracle. Enjoy your sneak peeks!

newness (scottsdale newborn photographer)

”I’ll breathe in your newness,
and remember these days,
forever in delved in my mind.”
~Pamela Simpson
This new little family was just so incredibly sweet and in love with their new daughter. During newborn sessions, there is plenty of time for feeding, soothing and lulling baby back to sleep. So, we had a little downtime to chat while this sweetie was getting her little belly fed. As we were chatting, I teared up as the new dad said, “If I would have known that it was going to be this good, I would have had children a long time ago.” That, my friends, is the magic of parenthood. Something that, before it happens to you, seems wonderful–but when you actually have a baby of your own you realize that wonderful will never be enough to describe the love, emotions and protectiveness you feel toward this small human being. I don’t think there is a word strong and all-encompassing enough in the English language to describe what happens to you when you become a parent. I love being able to see that happen to new parents when I meet them and their days-old son or daughter for the first time. Ah, bliss. This little peanut weighed in at 5 pounds, 5 ounces and was so beautiful. She snoozed happily and was such an agreeable little model. She worked up quite the appetite by the end of the session. It was wonderful to meet all of you and to talk with you. Thanks so much for opening your home. Enjoy your sneak peeks!

darling baby girl (scottsdale newborn photographer)
January 25, 2010“The child must know that she is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like her.”
~Pablo Casals
This precious baby girl was just so wonderful to photograph. She has the most beautiful brown eyes and just loves to look around. As you walk back toward her gorgeous nursery, you pass by a wall of large photographs of her two year old big bro as a baby. Oh.my.goodness. It could be the same baby! I love that! It is the same way with my two little ones–they are almost exactly the same age apart, and sometimes I swear I am looking at Addison’s baby photo when in fact it is Jackson’s! This little sweetheart will snooze in style–her nursery is an elegant mix of classic, modern and vintage. A room fit for a princess. It was such a pleasure to meet this wonderful family and to photograph such a sweet, darling baby girl. Thank you for opening your home to me. You are truly blessed! Enjoy your sneak peeks!

December 14, 2009” I think that I see something deeper, more infinite, more eternal than the ocean in the expression of the eyes of a little baby when it wakes in the morning and coos or laughs because it sees the sun shining on its cradle. “
~Vincent van Gogh
I fell in love with this little man the instant I saw him. He started off the session by giving me some adorable smiles and later showed off his stunning baby blues. I just adore this amazing yellow blanket–it belonged to this little man’s great grandmother. I love to photograph newborns with items of sentimental value or importance. It makes the photographs that much more special. Mom and dad are obviously smitten with their new sweetie, and it shone through in their images. It was amazing to meet you all, thanks so much for allowing me the honor of photographing your beautiful family.
