“A photograph is memory in the raw. ”

I had a wonderful response to last week’s {wall art wednesday}.  I find it is a challenge for most people in this busy world to give thought to taking their photos out of albums and onto their walls.  Give your photographs and memories the place they deserve in your home.  Make a statement and go big.  You really will adore it and be so happy you did.  Here are a few more ideas to get you started…

I just love this one…I have a very similar photo of my two kiddos and they are around the same ages, too.  Think I should blow it up and put it in our bedroom?  :)   One photograph blown up big can make such an impact, don’t you think?

How fun!  I bet you would never think to put your frames this close together and in this pattern…look how they are all different sizes, too.  Might be pretty easy to do, don’t you think?

This one is similar to the previous wall display…I just love how it wraps around the corner!  So unique!

Just by grouping six or more (I love at least nine even more) frames of the same size together, you are making a huge statement.  This is pretty much what I have on the wall in the office except the frames are all square.  I.love.it.

What have you done to make a statement in your own home with photographs?  Share with us!  I can’t wait to share some of my client images…thanks to those that have already shared!  :)

This was a special session.  Our dear friends welcomed their new baby girl into this world, and we couldn’t be happier.  It is such a strange and wonderful thing to see your friend become a mother of TWO.  It is hard to describe, but it took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes when I first saw her holding her daughter.  It brought back so many memories of when we brought Addie home, and how Jack’s life changed forever (in a wonderful way!).   We love little D, the big bro, so much, and he is such a good friend to Jack.  The kiddos in our group are almost like siblings, so it is so.much.fun to welcome another little one into it.  When all of us girls met, we had almost and just-turned one year old babies.  Since then, we have added four more babies into the mix.  Such an awesome circle of love and friendship.  You all are such amazing parents, and I am so thrilled for you.  Miss M is simply beautiful, and the perfect addition. Enjoy your sneak peeks!

This might just be one of my faves.  For some reason, it just speaks to me.  Maybe because I have a son and a daughter, too.  I just love how his little hand is cupping his mom’s face as he looks at her. Moms, do you feel what I feel when I look at this?  :)

I adore this yellow and white blanket–it was her great-grandmother’s, and she was instantly calm and peaceful on it.

Three generations of beautiful women.  :)

So, it’s no secret that I adore all that designer Stephanie of Ivy and A creates.  I must share some of my shoots that I have had the pleasure of photographing with my clients wearing her ahhhh-mazing clothing.  How happy would I be if your kiddo showed up in one of these outfits?!  Happy, I tell you!  :)   Stephanie just has a knack for pairing uber-cool fabrics with one another in the most adorable boutique designs.  Her style really lends itself well to style of photography, too.  Bright pops of colors, fresh style and contemporary textiles.  I swoon each time I see a new design, seriously.  Her outfits are so fun to accessorize and the possibilities for your session are endless!  Don’t you just want to smile just looking at all these sweeties having fun?

This new little family was just so incredibly sweet and in love with their new daughter.   During newborn sessions, there is plenty of time for feeding, soothing and lulling baby back to sleep.   So, we had a little downtime to chat while this sweetie was getting her little belly fed.  As we were chatting, I teared up as the new dad said, “If I would have known that it was going to be this good, I would have had children a long time ago.”  That, my friends, is the magic of parenthood.  Something that, before it happens to you, seems wonderful–but when you actually have a baby of your own you realize that wonderful will never be enough to describe the love, emotions and protectiveness you feel toward this small human being.  I don’t think there is a word strong and all-encompassing enough in the English language to describe what happens to you when you become a parent.  I love being able to see that happen to new parents when I meet them and their days-old son or daughter for the first time.   Ah, bliss.  This little peanut weighed in at 5 pounds, 5 ounces and was so beautiful.  She snoozed happily and was such an agreeable little model.  She worked up quite the appetite by the end of the session.   It was wonderful to meet all of you and to talk with you.  Thanks so much for opening your home.  Enjoy your sneak peeks!

“The child must know that she is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like her.”

~Pablo Casals

This precious baby girl was just so wonderful to photograph.  She has the most beautiful brown eyes and just loves to look around.  As you walk back toward her gorgeous nursery, you pass by a wall of large photographs of her two year old big bro as a baby.  Oh.my.goodness.  It could be the same baby!  I love that!  It is the same way with my two little ones–they are almost exactly the same age apart, and sometimes I swear I am looking at Addison’s baby photo when in fact it is Jackson’s!  This little sweetheart will snooze in style–her nursery is an elegant mix of classic, modern and vintage.  A room fit for a princess.   It was such a pleasure to meet this wonderful family and to photograph such a sweet, darling baby girl.  Thank you for opening your home to me.  You are truly blessed!  Enjoy your sneak peeks!

“When that baby looks into your eyes and you know it’s yours, you know what it means to be alive.”

What an amazing “job” I have.  I just feel so lucky to be able to hold babies that weren’t even here just a few short days prior.  What a miraculous thing to be able to look into a baby’s eyes and to truly see the whole world before them.  Seriously.  I am in awe each time I leave a newborn session.  I have definitely been getting my baby fix this month!  This little man was the third little newbie for December, and another client just welcomed a baby boy this morning.  That makes four boys for December!  Isn’t he so sweet?  His parents and big sisters (aren’t they just beautiful, too?!) are obviously in love with him already, and really how could you not be?  Mom and Dad had so many fun ideas–we put this little guy into a stocking, a football helmet (with a strong middle name like Packer can you guess what team is a family fave?), a Santa outfit and so many cute little hats.  Dad is in the jewelry business, so we just had to show how little this sweetie’s toes are by trying Dad’s ring on for size.  He was such a good sport and patiently modeled for me for several hours.  I just had to post the one of him in the stocking because I love how he is seemingly fascinated by his cute little hands.  Thank you for welcoming me into your home–I can’t wait for you to see the rest!  Enjoy your sneak peeks!  :)

This little angel was due to arrive just a few days after Christmas.  Instead, he made his debut a full month early.   He is just so darling and it was just so wonderful to meet him and his family.  :)   I feel so blessed to be able to photograph and meet so many amazing people.  Really, I just don’t know how I get lucky every.single.time. and meet these interesting, sweet people who have so many life stories to tell.   Mom was so easy to talk to and we had a great deal in common.  She had the most fabulous props…ummm, I mean furniture…:) to use!  Check out this awesome zebra print ottoman and the cool chandelier.  If you ever decide not to stay in the nursing field, there’s always a career in interior design, girlie!  It was an honor to photograph your darling little man.  Thank you!
